Join us for a special screening of The Cave and a talk on the role of doctors in the war in Syria

This event is ending soon! Last chance to secure tickets!

Join us for a special screening of The Cave – a powerful award-winning documentary following physicians in the Syrian war as they treat besieged civilians inside a subterranean hospital known as The Cave.

Directed by Oscar nominee Feras Fayyad (“Last Men in Aleppo”) it tells the story of pediatrician and managing physician Dr. Amani Ballour and her colleagues Samaher and Dr. Alaa as they contend with daily bombardments, chronic supply shortages and the ever-present threat of chemical attacks. The Cave paints a stirring portrait of courage, resilience and female solidarity.

For this screening we’re pleased to be joined by Dr. Souheil Habbal, former California Chapter President of the Syrian American Medical Society, who will reflect on his experience in Syria and the challenges facing healthcare staff. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A after the film.
